At Morningside Nannies, we require professional childcare related references and work experience to be considered for representation. If you hope to become a nanny through our agency, we suggest that you gain at least two years of childcare work experience. This could be as a nanny, teacher, camp counselor or daycare worker.
No, Morningside Nannies does not charge nannies to apply for positions or require nannies to pay a fee once hired.
Nannies are expected to take on all child related duties. Typically, nannies are responsible for the children’s laundry, cleaning of the children’s bedroom and playroom and tidying up the kitchen after meals.
You may also be asked to do some grocery shopping, run child related errands, arrange play dates and possibly take the children to school or to doctor or dentist appointments.
Some families will ask that the nanny take care of the family’s laundry and some would appreciate it if the nanny would get the family dinner started for them.
In the Houston area, nannies generally earn between $22 to $26 per hour, however depending on the job requirements and nanny’s qualifications, the hourly rate could rise to $30 per hour – particularly for competitive positions such as part-time after school jobs.
Once you complete our application, we will evaluate it. If you meet our minimum requirements, we will schedule an interview. After that, we will contact your previous employers, references and start your background screening. We will keep in touch with you throughout this process. Once a decision has been made regarding your application, you will be notified.
