Originally, I tried to find a nanny on my own and it took me much, much longer and only half of them spoke English. I had to do my own background checks. Morningside Nannies made it much easier, faster and more efficient.

Do You Know Your Caregiver’s Background?

For parents who find a caregiver on their own, but would like the peace of mind that comes with knowing additional information about their childcare provider, we offer parents the opportunity to have their caregiver screened by our agency.

The Application

With a completed application, you’ll learn about a candidate’s education, childcare training, volunteer experience, health, family history, personality, outside interests and skills.

Testing/Skill Assessment

With our testing and skill assessment, you’ll learn the nanny candidate’s level of literacy, childcare skills, knowledge of child development and first aid competency.

Personal Interview

From our personal interview of the candidate, you’ll receive our assessment of the nanny’s overall level of professionalism, personality and experience for your consideration.

Work History

From a candidate’s work history you’ll discover previous employers’ names, phone numbers and occupations, as well as details about the position the nanny held. The nanny’s responsibilities, dates of employment, ages of the children cared for and the reason the position ended will also be gleaned from gathering work history information.

References

What references say – as much as what they don’t, helps gain a better insight into the quality of a nanny’s previous work. Since most job applicants only provide contacts of those who will speak positively about them, it’s important to dig deep, uncover additional references and ask lots and lots of open ended and follow up questions.

Documentation

With copies of your candidate’s driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance and Social Security card on file, as well as proof that she’s able to legally accept work in the United States, you’ll have on file vital information about the candidate you wish to hire.

Identity Verification Report

Confirm your candidate’s identity with an Identity Verification Report. We use the name, address, date of birth and Social Security Number supplied by the candidate to verify the accuracy of the information provided and to identify potential fraud. With this report the results of a Social Security Trace and National Fugitive Search are included.

Multi-State Court Search

Confirm your candidate has no criminal records on file with our multi-state search. We will access criminal convictions, arrests, sexual offender registries, department of corrections and traffic and administrative court records from across the United States and provide you with any information on matches to the nanny candidate you are considering.

Harris County and Surrounding Counties Criminal Records Search

Confirm your candidate has no local criminal records. We will also access the criminal records from Harris County and surrounding counties and provide you with any information on matches to the nanny candidate you are considering.

Motor Vehicle/Driving Record (MVR) Reports

Learn about your candidate’s driving history with the results of a driving record report and information revealed through the motor vehicle record search.

Internet Search

Discover who your candidate is when she’s not on the interview by searching social media and the Internet to see what comes up. Does your candidate present the same way in person as she does online? A quick search will reveal the truth.
