Originally, I tried to find a nanny on my own and it took me much, much longer and only half of them spoke English. I had to do my own background checks. Morningside Nannies made it much easier, faster and more efficient.

Perhaps Clute’s most important claim to fame is the 2003 discovery of a mammoth buried in a sand pit behind the Brazoswood High School by a backhoe operator. Estimated to be roughly 38,000 years old and later named Asiel, the mammoth is believed to be the remains of the first-dated mammoth on the Texas Gulf Coast.

The Brazosport Center for the Arts & Sciences is located in Clute, and sprawls over 45,000 square feet of space operated by the Brazosport Fine Arts Council. The Brazosport Art League, Brazosport Museum of Natural Science, Sea Shell Searchers of Brazoria County, Brazosport Birders & Naturalists, the Brazosport Archaeological Society, Brazosport Planetarium, Brazosport Center Stages, the Brazosport Symphony Orchestra, the Brazosport Symphony League, the Gerrard Teen Guild and the Children’s Company are all under the purview of the Brazosport Fine Arts Council.

The annual “Great Texas Mosquito Festival” is held each July in Clute, spanning over three days and attracting approximately 18,000 visitors to the area.

Because Clute is a relatively small community with fewer industrial employment opportunities, many residents do choose to commute into Houston or other neighboring communities. However, there are a few companies with headquarters or campus space in Clute.

Troy Manufacturing, a company that produces tanks, towers, stacks, hoods, dampers, ducting, piping fans and blowers for commercial applications has a facility in Clute, which employs a number of local residents.

Standardized Test Scores

Students attending schools in the Brazosport Independent School District from third through eleventh grade in 2011 scored largely on a par with the state average standard, both falling below and rising above the standard very slightly in either direction.

Childcare Options

Clute families in need of childcare are faced with a variety of options. Daycare centers in the area can be private, public, non-sectarian or affiliated with a specific spirituality, as can preschools and early education centers. We understand that private, in-home care is often the best choice for many families who are simply overwhelmed at the prospect of sifting through dozens of resumes, narrowing the field of applicants to a manageable number in order to conduct time-consuming in-person interviews and navigating the complex realm of background checks that will ensure your child’s safety while remaining compliant with state and federal employment laws. That’s why we’re excited to offer our services to parents in the Clute area, supplying pre-screened and highly-qualified nannies that have been carefully matched to your specifications.
