The Costs of Hiring a Nanny

At Morningside Nannies, we understand that when considering childcare options, cost is a huge factor. Fortunately for many parents, securing high quality in-home childcare is more affordable than they think. For families with more than one child or with parents who work long or untraditional hours, nanny care is comparable if not more affordable than other childcare options.

Search Fee

At Morningside Nannies we excel with matching the right nannies with the right families. The search fee offsets the cost of our initial client intake and job launch. Our search fee is $100.00. This search fee is valid for one year.

Referral Fee

Should you hire one of our candidates for a long-term position, our referral fee is equivalent to six times the nanny’s gross weekly wages for full-time roles of 35 hours per week or more and eight times the nanny’s gross weekly wages for part-time roles. This fee is payable upon the nanny accepting your job offer and billed to the credit card on file.  

Provider’s Salary

Once you’ve found the candidate you wish to hire, you’ll negotiate an hourly rate with the nanny. Nannies hired through Morningside Nannies typically earn a gross hourly rate of $20 to $28+ per hour, with most averaging $22 to $26.

Taxes and Insurance

As a household employer, you’ll have tax obligations. Typically the costs associated with paying a nanny equal about 10% to 12% of the nanny’s gross annual salary. There are tax breaks and credits, however, which can negate this cost. In fact, the breaks some nanny employers receive exceeds their portion of taxes.
